Hello, I’m Sumanta Sarkar — a traveller by soul, a storyteller by heart, and a photographer by instinct.
I come from the land where rivers hum songs of eternity, where the scent of rain mingles with nostalgia, and where every street corner has a story to tell — Bengal. My roots have shaped my way of seeing the world — with curiosity, warmth, and emotion.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by stories. As a child, I would sit by the window on rainy afternoons, listening to my grandmother narrate tales from faraway lands. Back then, travel was only a dream painted in imagination. But dreams have a way of calling you — and one day, I decided to answer.
My journey into travel blogging and photography wasn’t planned — it evolved naturally, almost poetically.
I still remember the first time I held a Kodak KB10 camera. It was a small, simple device, yet when I clicked the shutter and saw the world frozen in a frame, something stirred inside me. It felt like capturing time, emotion, and memory — all in one heartbeat.
That single click changed the way I looked at the world. Suddenly, everything seemed alive with meaning — the laughter of a child, the curve of a mountain road, the way sunlight filtered through the leaves. I realized photography wasn’t just about pictures; it was about preserving emotions.
Traveling came soon after with parents then with friends after school days— short trips at first, then longer ones. Each journey became an exploration not just of new places but of myself. Somewhere between misty mornings in the hills and quiet sunsets by the sea, I found my calling — to tell stories that connect hearts and horizons.
“Traveler, storyteller, and photographer — capturing emotions, untold stories, and the soul of places through words and pictures.”
Seeing the World Through a Lens
Being a travel blogger means carrying a world of emotion, poetry, and rhythm within. Our culture teaches us to feel deeply — to find beauty even in the ordinary. That’s exactly what I try to capture through my words and my camera.
I don’t chase tourist spots; I chase moments. I love the sound of temple bells echoing through dawn, the aroma of street tea mingling with laughter, the aged faces that hold untold tales of time. For me, these fragments of life are the true treasures of travel.
Through my photographs, I aim to show that every face has a story, every place has a pulse, and every journey has a soul. Whether I’m wandering through the narrow alleys of Kolkata or trekking in the serene hills of Sikkim, I always look for the human connection — that shared sense of wonder that binds us all.
🌿 The Journey Continues…
Even after years of traveling, I still get that childlike excitement when I pack my bag. There’s something about setting out on a new road — that thrill of not knowing what lies ahead.
Sometimes, travel is grand — mountains, oceans, and new cultures.
Sometimes, it’s simple — a walk through your own city at sunrise.
But always, it’s transformative.
Every trip teaches me something new — about the world, about people, and about myself. And as long as I can hold a camera and a pen, I’ll keep exploring, learning, and sharing those stories.
What You’ll Find Here
On my blog, you’ll find a blend of travel tales, photo essays, and soulful reflections. I share:
This space is my travel diary — open for anyone who believes that stories and pictures can change how we see the world.
A Note from My Heart
If you’ve found your way here, I want to say — thank you. Thank you for reading, for pausing, and for sharing this space with me. In a world that moves too fast, it’s a gift to slow down together — to breathe in a moment, to listen to a story, to see the world through another heart.
Because, at the end of the day, we’re all travellers — seeking connection, meaning, and beauty in our own ways.
“I travel not to escape life, but to let life find me — in every journey, every frame, and every story that unfolds.”
The Philosophy Behind My Travel
Travel, for me, is not an escape. It’s a return — a return to simplicity, curiosity, and humility.
Every time I step into a new place, I remind myself — I am not just a visitor; I am a learner.
I learn from the way locals greet strangers with kindness.
I learn from the rhythm of their daily life.
I learn from their food, their laughter, their silences.
I believe travel photography isn’t about perfect composition or stunning landscapes — it’s about authenticity. It’s about standing still long enough to feel the heartbeat of a place. When I click a photo, I try to capture not just what I see, but what I feel.
Storytelling Through Pictures
They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but I’ve learned that sometimes, it whispers instead. Every photograph I take is a dialogue — between the world and my soul.
I love telling stories through my pictures — stories of resilience, simplicity, and love. A wrinkled face smiling under the afternoon sun, fishermen returning home at dusk, or the dance of light on water — these are not just visuals; they are emotions in motion.
Each frame I capture carries a piece of my heart — and through my blog, I try to translate those silent emotions into words. I blend my photography with short narratives, poems, and reflections — creating a space where images and words coexist in harmony.
Why I Started Blogging
When I began traveling, I used to keep a journal — scribbling my thoughts after every journey. Over time, those pages turned into blog posts, and that’s how my storytelling journey began.
My blog is not a travel guide. It’s an experience — a window into how places feel. I write about hidden corners, forgotten cultures, and small discoveries that don’t usually make it to postcards. I share not just where I go, but what I learn.
I want my readers to see the world not as distant lands on a map, but as living, breathing stories — full of laughter, tears, chaos, and calm.
Capturing the Soul of Places
One of my most cherished memories is wandering through the tea gardens of North Bengal during early morning mist. The workers’ songs echoed through the fog, the smell of fresh leaves filled the air, and the world felt beautifully timeless. That day, I didn’t just capture photographs — I captured the soul of a moment that words could barely describe.
Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. Travel photography, for me, is not about collecting destinations; it’s about connecting with emotions. It’s about capturing the unspoken poetry of life.
The Power of Stories
Stories have power. They connect us, teach us, and heal us. Every time someone reads one of my posts and writes back saying, “It felt like I was there with you,” I feel the magic of storytelling all over again.
My hope is that through my blog and photographs, you don’t just see the beauty of the world — you feel it. Maybe my journeys will inspire you to take your own — or perhaps they’ll simply remind you to look closer at the beauty around you every day.
